American composer and teacher Arthur Gottschalk attended the University of Michigan, where he studied with William Bolcom, Ross Lee Finney and Leslie Bassett. Gottschalk's specialties include music business and law, film music, music theory, music composition and counterpoint. Approaching two hundred compositions in his catalog, his work was been featured in film and television and is performed worldwide. His contemporary woodwind quintet Children of the Night was composed in 1976.
